Journals

There’s nothing like a fresh journal. Fresh ideas require a brand new journal, notebook, or stack of bounded paper.

Or is it a stack of paper that has binding.

Either way. New idea means new place to write. Clean papier.

Fresh sheet of blank pulp.

Preferably soft. College ruled with faint grayish lines.

Blue feels more like school. But depending on the idea a spiral that has 5 stars might do.

Especially if there are pocket folders.

Pockets!!!! I love pockets. You can put so many things in a pocket.

Fresh spaces to lay your thoughts and ideas down are so exciting!

The exhilaration brought on by possibilities.

Gilded pages.

Soft leather covers.

The perfect quote. A beautiful scene. Bugs!

Yea. Bugs.

Picked up while I waited for the next cashier. I wasn’t looking for a new notebook. Certainly did not need one.

So pretty. There are beetles, ladybugs, or as the British say ladybirds, bumblebees, flies, butterflies, and moths.

Bugs.

Yeeeeeee.

After walking around with my bug journal for a month waiting, I finally decided which ideas to write in this stack of soft paper that is bound with glue between soft leather covers with bugs on it.

Now I have to buy something new to write with.

I want pencils.

  1. a new journal is like Christmas to me. At these what I first remember about Christmas as a child. Something new, untouched and all mine. Something to create with. Adventure, exploration and even mischief. It has to be the right size for me. My hand has to be able to flow and dance. The other term is Common Place Book. Look it up.

    1. Hello! Common Place Book. Now that’s a new term for me. Very fitting, since I literally just bought one on Friday and popped it in my bag next to three more. Two of which are blank and ready for words. They are very much common in my space. 😁🤓
